NoViolet Bulawayo
Winner of the 2011 Caine Prize for African Writing for her short story “Hitting Budapest.” Her book, We Need New Names, is forthcoming summer 2013 from Little, Brown (U.S.) and Chatto & Windus (U.K.). She earned an MA in English from SMU (‘07) as Elizabeth Tshele and is currently a Stegner Fellow at Stanford.

He is the W. D. and Sara E. Trowbridge Professor of English, Writing Studies, and Center for East Asian and Pacific Studies, and writer of The Far East and the English Imagination 1600-1730 and Dying Planet: Mars in Science and the Imagination.
